Designing Daycare Floor Plans

q     Ministry of youth and child services of Ontario has regulated the daycare layouts and requirements under the daycare act. Number of the children, age group and the teacher/student ratio are also regulated.

q     Site plan design is one of the main focuses for daycares to accommodate the required number of parking spots as well as the operation of the site for pick-up and drop-off purposes. Traffic or parking studies may be required for some cases.

q     Number of the washrooms and prescribed required indoor and outdoor spaces shall also be considered in the design.
